A playthrough of Capcom's 1991 action game for the NES, Snow Bros. • This video shows two playthroughs of the game in order to show all the hidden stuff, in addition to all three rounds of the Time Mode. Here are some timestamps: • 0:00 First game (shows all the secret items and the best ending) • 36:05 Second game (takes the warp zones and shows the regular ending) • Time Mode • 1:02:40 Two-minute game • 1:05:32 Three-minute game • 1:09:26 Five-minute game • Snow Bros. is a conversion of the 1990 arcade game from Toaplan. The NES game was the first of two home versions of the game to see a North American release, and it was followed a couple of months later by Snow Bros. Jr. for the Game Boy. • It's a single-screen platformer in the same vein as Bubble Bobble (   • Bubble Bobble (NES) Playthrough  ) and Rod Land (   • Rod Land (NES) Playthrough - Nintendo...  ). Nick and Tom are twin snowmen/princes on a fifty-stage quest to save some princesses, and the goal of each stage is to clear the enemies. The pair tosses snow at their enemies to stun them, and if they keep piling it on, the bad guys will eventually turn into giant snowballs. Giving one of those snowballs a shove will send it bowling through everything in its path, and if you can line up all the enemies for a strike, you'll earn tons of bonus points and power-up items. • The snowballs put a simple but meaningful twist on the Bubble Bobble formula, and there's a lot of stuff to keep you occupied. The game supports 2P co-op play, there's a boss to fight on every tenth stage, there are plenty of secrets to hunt for (including a couple of warp zones and an alternate ending), and there's a bonus timer-based mode that changes up the rules and introduces a few new stages that you won't find in the normal game. • I always liked this one. For a couple of months, it was my trusty fall-back option at the rental store on those Friday nights when the new releases were already long gone. It's a shame that it goes for an arm and a leg these days, because it's well worth checking out. • I thought the theme made it a good pick for the first day of the holiday shopping season, and it felt appropriate with a brand new Snow Bros. game - Snow Bros. Wonderland - having just come out yesterday. Has anyone played it yet? With an old-guard Toaplan guy heading up the project, I'm curious how it turned out. • _____________ • No cheats were used during the recording of this video. • • NintendoComplete (http://www.nintendocomplete.com/) punches you in the face with in-depth reviews, screenshot archives, and music from classic 8-bit NES games!
