Anthias/Pseudanthias are one of the best active and beautiful marine fish in the marine fishkeeping hobby which make a great addition to most marine reef aquariums. They also help draw out shier fish that share the marine reef aquarium. • They do best when kept in groups in a medium to large sized aquarium (210 Litres plus). Males tend to quarrel for territorial dispute or for showing off for females so it is best to keep one male with several females unless you have a very large aquarium. Anthias species all share the trait of being hermaphroditic. If the dominant male perishes, the largest female of the group will often develop into a male to take his place. (Sequential hermaphroditism is a whole other story. More information can be found at http://www.open.edu/openlearn/science.... • Anthias are midwater zooplankton feeders in the wild and should be fed a varied diet of mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, fine frozen foods like Daphnia and additional vitamin rich marine pellets. Being a very active fish they should be several times a day. They also appreciates the availability of several hiding places and resting places. • Currently In Stock 16/08/2018: • Pseudanthias huchtii - Redcheek, Green, or Green Pacific Basslet • Pseudanthias parvirostris - Sunset or Short-snout Anthias • Pseudanthias pleurotaenia - Squarespot or Mirror Anthias • Pseudanthias squamipinnis - Lyretail Anthias • Pseudanthias tuka - Yellowstripe or Purple Queen Anthias • Pseudanthias rubrizonatus - Redbelted or Lilac-tipped Basslet • More types are available to order, please call us.
