More info on FileAudit 6.1: https://www.isdecisions.com/products/... • Free trial: https://www.isdecisions.com/products/... • Transcript: • In the latest version of #FileAudit 6.1 you can now have a centralized view of your #NTFS permissions on all your audited files and folders. You can also scan properties of the files to allow for better management of your file storage and this new version is fully compatible with #SQLite database. • To report on permissions and properties the software scans all the audited paths you have defined and saves the information in snapshots. The generation of a snapshot can be done instantaneously or can be scheduled at a later time on a monthly or weekly basis. • Here you can see all the snapshots that you have scheduled and the ones that are available for reporting. To run a report on permissions, click on the simple permissions tile. Here you can see the #NTFSpermissions from your most recent snapshot. You can search for a specific folder to check who has access to it or you can search by group or users to drill down even further. The same report is available for advanced permissions. • If you go back to the main menu and click on advanced permissions and here you can generate the same one for advanced NTFS permissions. Like all reports you can export the data into these different formats to send by email or save to a location. • If you use alerts or reports to track permission changes you can compare snapshots to see what actual changes were made. By selecting an older snapshot ran before the alert and entering the file name concerned, you can check to see what the permissions were before. And then by selecting a snapshot created after the alert, you can check to see the permissions on that folder and we can see in this case permissions have been added for the user Bob. • The other new reports on file and folder properties give you an overview on when files are being created, access and modified in a console that you can filter and search through. Use the last modified and last access filters to help you identify which data is still relevant and still being accessed. This can allow you to optimize file storage and stay compliant with regulations such as #GDPR. • You can also use this report to filter on file size to see which of your largest files are still being accessed. You can take advantage of all these features by upgrading or downloading to FileAudit 6.1 (https://www.isdecisions.com/products/...) or contact a sales technician for a live demo. • Thanks for watching !
