Cary-Yale Visconti/Visconti Di Modrone is one of three hand painted 15th century decks attached to the Visconti name. It is alleged that the deck remained in the Visconti family (now known as Visconti Di Modrone) until about 1947 when it was purchased by Mary and Melbert Cary. It was left to Yale University by Mary Cary in the 1960s where it remains today. There are 67 surviving cards. It is not known with full certainty how many cards were present originally but there is a case to be made that there were 89 originals; 25 Trumps, 24 court cards, 40 numerical pips. • This decks was originally thought to be painted by Bonafacio Bembo but more recently attributed to his elder brother Andrea Bembo around 1441. • • *First cards I show are the fool. I misspoke and said magician twice 😃 • • For more info: • Discussion on Cary-Yale Visconti Heraldry on Tarot History Forum: • https://forum.tarothistory.com/viewto... • • Ross Caldwell review of Cary-Yale Visconti : •   / 2938338699712432   • Mary K Greer article about missing Devils: • https://marykgreer.com/2018/01/27/wha...
