Decorating with Vintage Enamelware

Vintage enamelware is a charming addition to any home decor. With its colorful and durable design, enamelware has been used for generations and has become a popular choice for both practical and decorative purposes. In this video, we'll cover decorating with vintage enamelware, a little bit of the history of enamelware, what pieces are good to decorate with, where to decorate with your enamelware, and where to find enamelware. I'm also going to share with you about a crazy high wind storm we had! • I have both new pieces and some antique enamelware. Let's start with a vintage piece. • I'm going to show you how I made a beautiful chamomile flower arrangement for my dining table in one of my favorite red and white enamelware pots. To save from using too much water, I place a vase in my antique enamelware. I cut my chamomile blooms with herb shears I found at Target in the dollar spot and arrange it in the vase. I may replace the vase with a wider top but it's still so darling on the dining room table. • I have a pretty enamelware vintage pitcher I keep in the rocking chair room that I love hanging on a hook or using for flower arrangements. Also hanging in my rocking chair room is an enamelware tray I got from the Hearth and Hand collection at Target. Their summer enamelware pieces are so cute with a yellow trim and I'll be using them in my summer decorations. I added some artificial flowers that are also from the Hearth and Hand collection at Target that I bent around the edge of the tray. • I also have a pretty colander from the Hearth and Hand collection at Target. It's perfect for displaying your fruit in the kitchen. • But decorating with enamelware isn't always just attractive, it can be practical too. I'm going to show you how I organize the oils in my butler's pantry. I also added a cute enamelware loaf pan I found at Goodwill this week to store small items in. • You can find vintage enamelware at garage sales, vintage stores, and antique stores. Online is a great place to look for vintage enamelware like cathrineholm enamelware. Online auctions, Etsy, and online vintage stores are great places to start. Dreamy White Farmhouse is a wonderful resource for French enamelware. For new enamelware, you can find the pieces I mentioned at the Hearth and Hand Collection at Target, Kirklands, and IKEA. • My niece in Maine loves vintage items and has a great collection of vintage enamelware. She finds great pieces at thrift stores and second hand shops. She started my enamelware kick when she sent me a picture of pretty nested colanders she has. She has a great display of pieces in her kitchen incorporating pitchers, a hanging colander, and even an enamelware spoon she keeps with her wooden spoons. She also uses enamelware mugs to keep potted succulents on her windowsill. This is a great use for old camping enamelware like those mugs. • There are so many great ways to decorate with enamelware! • Let me tell you about this wild wind storm, maybe tornado!, we had in my neighborhood. It all started with an weather alert on my husband's phone, a startled cat, and ended with us hunkered down in the laundry room. It was definitely a little scary but considering how many trees came down in our neighborhood, we were very lucky to not experience any damage to our home. • One last thing!
