Today on your 2021 Genesis GV80 we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Curt's Class 3, 2-inch trailer hitch receiver. Now this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. The cross tube is gonna be hidden completely behind the bumper. So you're only gonna notice the receiver tube here sticking out the back. It's a class three, 2-inch by 2-inch receiver so it's gonna be great for all of your towing needs whether you're wanting to put a cargo carrier in here and get some gear out of your vehicle or take some bikes to the trail or even just get some work done. • • Hook a trailer up to the back or maybe take a camper to the lake for the weekend. This hitch uses a 5/8-inch hitch pin and clip. Now one doesn't come included with the hitch but we've got plenty of available here at etrailer. We also have locking ones so you can protect your investment. On bottom here we have vertical plate style safety chain loops and these do hang down a little bit low but they should have a decent enough opening to accommodate just about every shape, size, and style of chain. • • We've got our large ones here and those work just fine as well as our small ones. This hitch features a 900 pound tongue weight and that's the force going down on top of the receiver and that's more than enough for a cargo carrier fully loaded up to the max. You can get the largest one here at etrailer and have no problem getting that in there and that'll be more than enough for any trailer that you're wanting to haul here with your hitch. It also offers a 6,000 pound gross towing capacity which is how much that it can pull behind it and with 6,000 pounds you could easily haul a trailer, a camper. You could do a lot of stuff with that. • • You have a boat, you could bring that along with you. So this hitch should just about meet just about all of your needs. Now I've got some measurements for you to help you when deciding on accessories. From the ground to the top and center of our receiver tube it measures about 12 and a half inches. This is important when determining if you need a drop, a rise, or raised shank on any of your accessories. • • And since this one is so low I do recommend a raised shank on your accessories. We also have another clearance point here at the bottom due to the vertical safety chains. And it looks like it's about eight and a half inches from the ground to the bottom here. So you just want to pay attention to that when you're if you're taking this thing out on any trails or anything like that. And from the center of our hitch pin hole to the edge of our rear bumper we're measuring right at about five inches. This is important when determining if your accessories will contact the bumper when inserted into the receiver tube. And if that can be placed in the upright storage position without contacting the bumper. Now that we've covered some of the features of our hitch, why don't you follow along with me and we'll show you how to get it installed to give you the confidence to do it at home. We'll begin our installation underneath the vehicle by removing the bezels around our exhaust. You'll need a 10 millimeter socket and there are two nuts located just under the bumper straight up that we'll need to remove. We can then take the strap out of the way and set it aside. And we're gonna do the same thing over on the other side. Next, we're going to put a strap in place underneath the vehicle for our exhaust here. So we're going to be lowering that down some but we don't want it to lower down too far to where it's going to damage anything. So we'll put that in place, tighten it up a little bit. And then we're going to remove the exhaust hangers. I'm using a little bit of silicone spray to make it easier to remove the hanger. And then we're just going to pry it off of there. You could also pry it off in this direction as well, whichever one you find to be easier. Typically though it's usually easier to go with the outside. We'll then do that on the other side as well. And if we go just in front of our rear suspension right there you're going to see that there's one here as well as on the other side that we're also going to remove. So now that we've got all those loose, we can loosen our strap up a bit to lower our exhaust down, just enough to where we can get our hitch into place. We are going to have to pull our bumper down some to get it into place. So just
