The two half-barriers you see here were installed in June 2014, but were not 100% integrated with the system as a whole. Instead, they were rather just 'bolted on' as characterised by the fact that not only one of the two is fitted in front of its closest wigwag set of lights, but also the alarms stop sounding before the barriers raise, though the lights continue until they're about one third of the way back to raised. It's the only example of this type of crossing on the South East route (comprising mainly of Kent and East Sussex). • This is also another 'locally-monitored' crossing, as drivers have to use either the red/white indications given by the LED drivers' crossing indicators to decide how and if to proceed - this tells them whether the crossing is working properly and safely (white) or if there's a fault (red). This crossing has been known to have notoriously faulty-sounding alarms, but both were working quite fine in these videos albeit sounding with faster tones than before, suggesting they'd been fixed and maintained rather than replaced, with likely new potentiometers (adjustable electronic pitch / speed controls) being fitted.
