On October 31st, 2024, at 10:51 PM, a deputy responded to a suspicious incident at a residence in Palm Coast, Florida. This marked the second visit to the location, as the local Sheriff's Office had previously received multiple complaints about a loud house party and numerous vehicles parked illegally along the roadway. Upon arrival, the deputy observed the same vehicles still parked in the front yard and along the street. A white pickup truck was positioned directly in the front yard, facing the residence's front door, with its lights on. • The deputy approached the vehicle with an agency-issued flashlight and announced their presence. A male exited the driver's seat, immediately stumbling and losing his balance, suggesting intoxication. The individual would later be identified. When the deputies announced themselves, the male shouted obscenities, expressing disdain for law enforcement. Despite repeated requests to stop, he attempted to enter the locked residence but was unsuccessful. The deputy reiterated their affiliation with the Sheriff's Office and instructed him to halt, but the male responded defiantly and fled on foot. • After a brief pursuit, the deputy and another officer apprehended him and placed him in a patrol car. While escorting him back, the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath as he continued to yell obscenities. At 18 years of age, he was eventually transferred to another patrol car. At this point, he had calmed down, and the deputy explained the reasons for their presence and the lawful attempt to detain him.
