π Welcome back to SA6HAM Radio, the channel where we explore the fascinating world of amateur radio! In today's episode, we take a deep dive into my latest R D project—a custom-built Panadapter for the Yaesu FT-891. • π¨ What's Inside: • Raspberry Pi 4 (2GB RAM) • Hyperpixel 4” Touch Screen • Airspy R2 Spyverter R2 • MFJ-1708B-SDRS for radio protection • Running FLRig, Cat-Relay, and SDR++ • ποΈ How It Works: • This setup utilizes a Raspberry Pi 4 with a 4-inch Hyperpixel touch screen to provide an intuitive interface. Under the hood, I'm running FLRig for rig control, SDR++ for the software-defined radio interface, and Cat-Relay to ensure seamless communication between SDR++ and the FT-891. An Airspy R2 and Spyverter R2 provide exceptional reception, and the MFJ 1708S-SDRS acts as a safeguard between the radio and the Spyverter. • π Sync Mode: • One of the standout features of this build is the use of Cat-Relay, which ensures that both SDR++ and the FT-891 are always on the same frequency and mode, giving you a fully integrated experience. • π¦ What's Next: • The final touch to this project will be a custom-built case to house all the components neatly. The aim is to see if this setup has the potential to become a commercial kit for fellow ham radio enthusiasts. • πΊ Watch me demo the Panadapter as it sits proudly on top of my FT-891, and find out how this powerful addition can elevate your ham radio experience. • βοΈ For more details, check out the link below: • https://sa6ham.se/radios/ft-891-panad... • π Connect with me: • Website: https://sa6ham.se • Mastodon: [@[email protected]] • Email: [email protected] • π If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more exciting amateur radio projects! • #HamRadio #SA6HAM #Panadapter #FT891 #RaspberryPi #SDR #Airspy #AmateurRadio #DIY #electronics
