Sign reading''al-Khadra photo shop '' and pan to damaged shop • • STORYLINE: • • A roadside bomb exploded near a US military convoy in Baghdad on Tuesday, missing the soldiers but killing a 7-year-old boy who was selling cans of black-market gasoline on a street and wounding nine other civilians, officials said. • • The blast occurred in the commercial district of Askan, a neighbourhood in western Baghdad. • • It hit and injured pedestrians, including a 10 year old girl, and destroyed several parked cars, according to police and hospital officials. • • In seven other attacks in the capital, insurgents used two bombs and five shootings to kill a policemen and wound 25 Iraqis, most of them police officers, officials said. • • In the Mamoun neighbourhood, a suicide car bomb exploded next to a joint American-Iraqi police patrol, killing at least two people. • • The blast which occurred at Nisoor square in the Mamoun neighborhood, western Baghdad, injured an unidentified number of civilians and set a civilian car on fire. • • At least two dead bodies were seen at the blast scene. • • The injured were taken to al-Yarmouk Teaching hospital for treatment. • • The attacks follows several large blasts in Baghdad on Monday. • • Three suicide car bombs exploded at a refortified hotel complex where many international journalists live in central Baghdad, killing as many as 20 Iraqis and wounding about 40. • • An improvised explosive device, IED, also went off close to a local photo shop in western Baghdad on Monday evening. • • That blast happened in western Baghdad's Khadra neighborhood and destroyed the shop completely but no casualties were reported. • • Find out more about AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/HowWeWork • Twitter: / ap_archive • Facebook: / aparchives • Instagram: / apnews • • • You can license this story through AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/you...
