I. Valve Body Disassembly and Gasket Identification (0:00-1:25) • This section focuses on identifying vented vs. non-vented valve bodies and the importance of matching the correct gasket to prevent catastrophic failure. It emphasizes the location of the vent hole and the corresponding hole on the appropriate gasket. • II. Valve Body Component Installation (1:26-3:26) • This section details the step-by-step process of installing the solenoid relay valve sleeve and plunger, as well as the lockup relay valve and plunger. It highlights variations in spring presence depending on the model. • It continues with the re-installation of pressure relief valves and accumulator checks, noting the specific location of the check ball in the example valve body. • III. Valve Body Assembly and Filter Placement (3:27-4:57) • This section covers the assembly of the three main valve body portions and the placement of filters and accumulator checks. • It highlights the critical placement of vent holes on the front portion of the valve body and emphasizes the use of the correct gasket with corresponding vent holes. • It also points out potential variations in check ball vs. accumulator check placement in specific valve body locations. • IV. Valve Body Tightening and Solenoid Installation (4:58-6:10) • This section demonstrates the proper sequence for tightening the valve body bolts after the three portions are aligned and assembled. • It then moves onto installing the on/off solenoid and linear solenoids, noting the potential for connector orientation variations (up or down) depending on the vehicle year and model. • Finally, it details the correct installation of the solenoid bracket, emphasizing the notch orientation. • V. Concluding Remarks and Resource Overview (6:11-7:26) • This section summarizes the repair process, emphasizing its ease and profitability. • It also highlights the availability of comprehensive information within the overhaul and correction kits, including details on sprag rotations, valve body components, solenoid current flow, pressure testing, and exploded views of valves and check components. • It concludes by reiterating the ease and reliability of the AW55-51SN/RE5F22A transmission unit and encourages viewers to happy building. • This is part 2 of the repair of a Nissan Maxima valve body from an RE5F22A or AW55-51SN transmission. This vehicle was sporting a P0780 Shift. Touble code. and yes, the description for P0780 is Shift, That's all that comes up on the scan tool. Not a lot of help. But this code is a mechanical malfunction not an electrical fault. So why fix the solenoids? Because of the contaminants that get cought up in the pintle bushings causing them to stick. So if you have'nt watched part 1 of the repair, go watch it after you finised watching this one.
