In this video lecture with the help of the histological images we have described the histology of the filiform papillae. The filiform papillae have cone shape structure and these papillae are present on the dorsal surface of anterior part of the tongue. The epithelium of the filiform papillae is keratinized epithelium. The filiform papillae form an abrasive surface that help in compressing and breaking the food particles when the tongue comes in contact with the hard palate. • Consider dental education hub as your second home.
