La più bella strada panoramica del Lago di Garda • La Strada della Forra, o Sp 38, viene descritta come una delle più belle strade del mondo oltre ad essere sicuramente la più bella strada panoramica del Lago di Garda. • Proprio per la sua vista mozzafiato e i tornanti che si inerpicano sul monte con l’immagine del lago sempre in sottofondo è stata utilizzata come scenario nelle riprese del film Quantum of Solace della saga dell’agente 007 James Bond. • La strada della Forra si chiama così perché attraversa la forra scavata dal torrente Brasa. Nota anche come strada Porto-Pieve-Vesio fu progettata e immaginata dal tremosinese Arturo Cozzaglio (autodidatta, ingegnere senza laurea, idrologo e geologo, realizzatore di ardue opere di scienza costruttiva), un’opera incredibile soprattutto per l’epoca in cui fu realizzata. • Ne furono promotori due... • personaggi visionari e lungimiranti del tempo Don Giacomo Zanini, parroco a Vesio, e Don Michele Miles che all’epoca era anche assessore comunale. • Essi convinsero della bontà dell’impresa, ritenuta da molti impossibile, il conte Vincenzo Bettoni, allora deputato. Costui interessò Giuseppe Zanardelli, capo del Governo. Con un’apposita legge si stabilì che il Governo avrebbe finanziato metà dell’opera, un quarto sarebbe stato pagato dalla Provincia e il resto dal Comune. I lavori iniziarono nel 1908 e durarono oltre 4 anni, con maestranze specializzate nelle opere di mina provenienti soprattutto da Serle. • Le cronache narrano che il 18 maggio 1913, giorno dell’inaugurazione la strada fu percorsa da auto e da un numero grandissimo di persone provenienti da tutta la provincia. L’allora Sindaco Domenico Milesi pronunciò questo discorso, ormai entrato nella storia: “Oggi Tremosine festeggia il suo più grande avvenimento, oggi Tremosine vede coronati i suoi voti, e tolto quell’isolamento a cui fu condannata per tanti secoli, e si vede unita al mondo civile. Oggi Tremosine colla sua nuova strada risorge a vita novella e prosperosa…” Mai profezia fu più vera, l’avvento della Strada portò benessere e turismo. Il corrispondente del Frankfurter Zeitung, arrivato appositamente dalla Germania, la battezzò «la strada più bella del mondo». Ancora oggi la SP38 (suggestiva anche in orari serali grazie alla scenografica illuminazione nel punto più stretto della Forra) è considerato uno dei percorsi più spettacolari d’Italia. • Fonte: https://www.stradadellaforra.com/ • The most beautiful panoramic road on Lake Garda • The Strada della Forra, or Sp 38, is described as one of the most beautiful roads in the world as well as being certainly the most beautiful panoramic road on Lake Garda. • Precisely because of its breathtaking view and the hairpin bends that climb the mountain with the image of the lake always in the background, it was used as a setting in the filming of the film Quantum of Solace of the 007 agent James Bond saga. • The Forra road is so called because it crosses the gorge dug by the Brasa stream. Also known as the Porto-Pieve-Vesio road, it was designed and imagined by Arturo Cozzaglio from Tremosino (self-taught, engineer without a degree, hydrologist and geologist, creator of arduous construction science works), an incredible work especially for the time in which it was built . • Two promoters... • visionary and farsighted characters of the time Don Giacomo Zanini, parish priest in Vesio, and Don Michele Miles who was also the city councilor at the time. • They convinced Count Vincenzo Bettoni, then deputy, of the goodness of the enterprise, considered by many to be impossible. He interested Giuseppe Zanardelli, head of the government. With a special law it was established that the Government would finance half of the work, a quarter would be paid by the Province and the rest by the Municipality. The works began in 1908 and lasted over 4 years, with skilled workers coming mainly from Serle. • The chronicles narrate that on 18 May 1913, the day of the inauguration, the road was traveled by cars and by a huge number of people from all over the province. Today Tremosine with its new road rises to a new and prosperous life…” Never was a prophecy more true, the advent of the road brought well-being and tourism. The correspondent of the Frankfurter Zeitung, who had specially arrived from Germany, dubbed it the most beautiful road in the world . Still today the SP38 (suggestive even in the evening thanks to the spectacular lighting in the narrowest point of the Gorge) is considered one of the most spectacular routes in Italy
