Happy Halloween! These classic Molasses Popcorn Balls are the perfect homemade Halloween Treat! • Let me show you exactly how to make these 1940’s inspired Molasses Popcorn Balls. They are sweet, slightly bitter in the best possible way, and fun to make. PLUS, you can make them any time of the year, not just for Haloween! • Recipe: • Recipe • Ingredients • ⅓ cup molasses • ¾ cup sugar • ¼ cup water • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar • 1 teaspoon salt • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract • 10 cups unsalted popcorn • Topping (optional) • 1/2 cup melting chocolate/wafers, etc • 1/4 cup sprinkles • Instructions • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. • Lightly grease a large bowl and a rubber spatula. Add your popcorn to the bowl. • Combine molasses, sugar, water in a 4-quart pot. • Bring to a boil over medium heat, which will take about 5 minutes. • Boil until the temp reaches 260 degrees, occasionally, about 6 minutes. • Remove from heat and stir in the vinegar, salt, butter, and vanilla. • Evenly pour over popcorn and stir to coat. • Lightly grease your hands and firmly form the candy-coated popcorn into balls. Makes 6-8 balls. • Place on parchment and allow to set. • Melt coating according to packaging.
