As we continue south, we drive by the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge and the lush, forested landscapes of Western Washington. Crossing into Oregon, the drive skirts along the Columbia River, with occasional glimpses of the river through breaks in the trees and bridges that offer panoramic views of this natural border.
