Critically-lauded activist Harsha Walia, author of Undoing Border Imperialism, challenges the way we perceive borders, the damages it instills on communities and traditions, as well as the arbitrariness of them. • Harsha Walia is a social justice activist and journalist who is best known for co-founding the Vancouver chapter of No One Is Illegal. Walia's writings have appeared in over fifty journals, anthologies, and magazines, including Briarpatch and others. • • She is the author of the book Undoing Border Imperialism , which indigenous rights activist Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz has called, the first extended work on immigration that refuses to make First Nations sovereignty invisible. • This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
