The Southern Section Masters meet was held at Moorpark High School on May 20, 2023. Since the State meet only runs a single set of races, Southern Section must winnow down the best from their 4 divisions into a slate to be entered in the State meet. Generally, Southern Section sends the top 6 teams from each race to State. • Tightly-packed homestretch except for the teams who encountered trouble in the hand-off zones. Oaks Christian just had that solid performance the whole way around, even with two freshmen. They end up 3rd in the State final. Poly is 4th at State while Simi and Cucamonga go 6-7. In this Masters race, Trabuco was thrilled to just edge out Westlake for that last spot at State.
