How Paper is Made | Inside the Factory • In this video we present the PAPER ONE factory. One of the international leaders in papermaking. • It starts with the extraction of reforested wood. It is usually eucalyptus. It is cut, peeled and chopped into small pieces. Cellulose is the basis for the manufacture of paper. • A pre-wash is done before entering the equipment. The water is reused. • The pieces of wood are placed in a cauldron, where it is heated and some chemicals are added. • The first product that emerges is known as cellulose pulp . After drying and pressing, it is supplied to printers for printing catalogs, brochures, magazines, etc. • But for bond paper, further steps are needed. The equipment used is composed of several processes. • It starts with removing water and other substances that may be present. Fibers begin to take shape. It is also known as sheet formation . • About 90% of water is recycled. • The sheet is heated in cylinders that reach 100 degrees Celsius so that it is completely dry. • Some more chemicals are applied to the sheet.
