STROUDSBURG, PA (Monroe County - Southern Poconos Region) • Built in 1977 by Hess's and the Montgomery Development Company of Plymouth Meeting, PA...opened fully by 1978. Stroud Mall is currently overshadowed by the Simon-owned Crossings Premium Outlets just a few miles to the west. The mall has lost tenants from 2021 to 2022 over the span of my two visits to this property. It currently has all 3 anchors occupied. The former Hess's became a Bon-Ton in 1994, the same year a 2-level Sears was added. The Bon-Ton became an upscale Shoprite by 2019. Sears left, and its first floor recently became EFO Furniture Outlet, and the JC Penney which opened with the interior of the mall in 1978 remains unchanged. • This video features content from my two visits to this mall, first in January 2021 and then again in April 2022. A few specific changes have been noted. • The mall has around 419,000 square feet of retail space. • Despite similarities to Phillipsburg Mall in its skylights and outdoor entrance areas of JC Penney, this mall IS NOT a Crown American mall. • Driving video of holiday lights gifted to Stroudsburg, PA by Jamie Makin • Photo of the small parking garage behind Sears is © Google Maps • Creative Commons Music used in this video: • Red Berry by Silent Partner • Red Berry – Silent Partner (No Copyri... • Blue Macaw by Quincas Moreira • Blue Macaw - Quincas Moreira | Royalt...
