http://www.midrive.com • Confused over the correct way to prepare yourself for a turn or lane change? Take a look at our video and we'll take you through the MSPSL (mirror, signal, position, speed, look) routine - previously known as the mirror, signal manoeuvre routine - to help you get on your way to passing your test! • For a more in-depth look at the MSPSL routine, take a look at our resource library: • http://resources.midrive.com/mspsl-ro... • ================================================ • Transcript: • Mirror • As you approach a junction, first glance in your interior mirror before checking the appropriate side mirror. Make sure to identify what you see; don't just glance at them just because your instructor is watching. • Signal • Make sure to let other road users know your intentions by signalling at the appropriate time when approaching turns, junctions and roundabouts, as well as when you intend to change lanes or pull over to park. • Position • To reinforce your intentions, position yourself on the road according to the direction you intend to turn; make left turns from your usual position on the road, but move closer to the centre line for right turns. • Speed • This one's pretty self-explanatory; make sure you're travelling at an appropriate speed! • Look • After having made sure no other road users have moved into your path, take one final check in your mirror. If you're turning left, take extra care to check your left side mirror for cyclists. If it's clear, turn away! • Music via AudioJungle
