Terraria Draining an Ocean

You will need a few lava buckets, a bunch of empty buckets, a gravestone, something that helps you breath under water and a few random blocks that are not affected by gravity. First, find the lowest point in your ocean. You'll know you're at the bottom when it's flat or you reach the edge of the map. Next dig a 4 block deep hole and cover the very top with your blocks so there is a 3 block high 2 block wide space. Empty all the water out and if you can't get all of it out place a lava bucket and mine the obsidian it makes. Then place your gravestone and some more lava. Then break the blocks at the top and the water will come rushing in. The gravestone prevents obsidian from being created so the water just gets destroyed. Now all you have to do is save and exit your world then join it again.
