There are three sounds ‘ed’ can make: /d/ /t/ and /id/. • We use the /d/ sound if the root word ends in a vowel sound or if the root word ends in a voiced consonant sound- as in save, plan and amaze. • We use the /t/ sound if the root word ends in an unvoiced consonant. • We pronounce the ‘ed’ as /id/ if the root word ends with the sound /d/ or /t/. • Find more resources at https://easyteaching.net
