Years ago we made a clip explaing the acoustic mechanism of trumpet playing. (See • Wie funktioniert eine Trompete ) • We use a special mouthpiece (regular throat and rim) with a side outlet for the vibrating air can be blown almost normal. The window allows to watch your lips while playing and with a stroboscope, you can watch the vibration of lips in slow motion. • Today I found my last exemplar of this lipview mouthpiece and you can see, where I place my lips inside the mouthpiece. • This mouthpiece was made years ago by Breslmair ( www.breslmair.at ) as prototypes. In this clip, I just tried it to play a short demo (It dont mean a thing, play along)
