It works very well in a pool with algae. I prefer using Yellowtrine myself, which is made by the same company Applied Biochemist, and is safer and easier to use. safer in respects that Swimtrine can stain your pool. • Swimtrine works as the copper metal in the chemical reacts with the algae. Unlike the Yellowtrine you do not need to add chlorine to the pool when you use Swimtrine. Yellowtrine actually needs liquid chlorine to be added along with it for a chemical reaction that will killl the algae. Swimtrine Plus works just by itself. • Use with caution since it can stain your pool plaster if not diluted properly in a bucket of water. You will find this chemical is highly effective in algae treatment.
