Easy Roast Beef with Veg Shorts

The short video shows you how to cook roast beef and veg for a tasty Sunday Roast. #shorts #beef #food • 1. Pre-heat the oven with fan 200°C or 392°F • 2. Pre cook vegetables for about 10 mins. • 3. Drain veg and put them into an oven safe dish. • 4. Repeat the same with the potatoes. • 5. In the meantime heat up an oven safe frying pan (we used a cast iron pan). • 6. Then quickly fry the beef, so to speak seal it. • 7. Put the beef aside. • 8. Drain the potatoes. • 9. Take the pot where the potatoes were cooked in (this is also a cast iron pot) and add some other veg and olive oil at the bottom of the pot. • 10. Add the beef on top of it and into the oven. • 11. Take the cast iron frying pan and add the potatoes with olive oil, herbs and lots of garlic if you want. • 12. Place the potatoes also into the oven. • 13. Check the other veg. If they are soft and a bit golden, then they are ready. • 14. Turn the potatoes after 20 mins so they can get crispy on the other side. Once they are nice and golden brown and soft then they are ready. • 15. Check the beef after about 40 mins. If it feels soft like your (on your face) cheek then it is rare, if it feel like your chin then it is medium rare and if it feels as hard as your forehead then it is fully cooked. Cook longer if need be. • 16. Once ready, take the beef and let it rest for 25 mins • 17. Take the cooking pan where the beef was in. Remove the larger veg and put aside. Then a bit of vegetable or beef stock and 150 to 200ml of water and let it simmer down to a nice sauce. • 18. After 25 mins serve the beef with the other veg and condiments.
