Rowan Atkinson also known as Mr Bean was born on January 6, 1955, in Consett, County Durham, England, Rowan Sebastian Atkinson was the youngest of four boys. His parents, Eric Atkinson, a farmer and company director, and Ella May, raised their family in a devout Anglican household. Tragedy struck early when his eldest brother, Paul, died as an infant, leaving Rowan to grow up alongside his two surviving brothers, Rodney and Rupert. The Atkinson boys were educated at prestigious institutions, with Rowan attending Durham Chorister School and St Bees School.
