A Baby Black Rat Snake

I encountered this pretty baby black rat snake while I was out on a run on a cool morning in September, 2024. As this individual grows, it’s grey and brown juvenile coloration will fade to the classic black and white adult pattern that one generally associates with black rat snakes. • This was in Middle Run Valley Park, Newark Delaware.
