Birdy RIDEA G2 Front Suspension Installation

This is an installation guide for RIDEA generation 2 front suspension for Birdy Bike. • [Note] • I've moved the front fork away from the catch and was rather stable enough to do this installation. Otherwise, it is better to have an assistance to hold on the bike or use a bike mount to prevent the front fork to swing back to the catch and risk any damage. • [Front Suspension] • The stock front suspension can be easily remove with a M5 Hex Tool. • You need a M3 Hex Tool and RIDEA acrylic crawl tools (provided in the package) to install the RIDEA front suspension. • [Removal Of Stock Front Suspension] • 0:04 Uncatch the front suspension • 0:12 Use a M5 hex tool to remove stock suspension • 0:24 Stock front suspension weighs 85g • 0:28 RIDEA front suspension weighs 63g • [Installing RIDEA Front Suspension] • 0:36 Unscrew apart the shock absorber • 0:47 Add 1-3 rubber washers (protects the fork or add thickness) • 0:56 Secure the front attachment with a M3 hex tools, up to 4Nm (blue substance on the screw is Loctite to lock the screw tight) • Note: Make sure the screw is fully inserted and tightened. There should be no Free-Play allowance. Either add more rubber washers or check if the blue Loctite is way too much to insert screw further. • The 3D FREE-BALL allows some or very little rotation and function to protect the front fork stiffness. I personally feel it is also alright if there's no movement at all, if more rubber washers were added. Precision is not always 100%. • 1:09 Reattach the shock absorber (slight movement due to 3D FREEBALL function. Please remember to check if the screw if fully inserted and secured) • 1:24 Make sure the front suspension can be connected and secure to Catch Hook underneath. • 1:36 Use RIDEA acrylic crawl tools (provided in the package) to make sure the shock absorber and bottom attachment is tight fit. • 1:49 Reassure the opening, closing function and lift the bike without any Free-Play, gap or knocking sound. • Note: For safety reasons, proper installation without gaps or knocking sound should be the correct way of installing the RIDEA G2 front suspension (no knocking sound if you try to bounce the front wheel).
