This week we continue our series on finishing layout work. All finishing work for progressive lenses is based on lens movement within the frame eyewire opening. The lens fitting cross is moved to match the wearer’s distance PD and OC height. We do this by decentering the lens. In this lesson we work through three examples of calculating horizontal and vertical decentration. Optician training includes working finishing calculations for progressive lenses. Just as we did for our series on prism, finishing layout work will be covered in small, incremental “baby-steps” so students can easily build on prior knowledge. • Free in-office finishing course available at https://opticianworks.com/edge • Learn More: https://opticianworks.com • Connect with us: • / opticianworks • This video was produced in association with Laramy-K Optical • Laramy-K Optical is a digital uncut and coating lab unlike any other.
