The first year of anything always has issues and Harley's Milwaukee 8 definitely had one. One of the major flaws of the Milwaukee 8 is the oil pump used from 2017 to 2019. The pumps creates conditions that can lead to eventual engine failure, while a vented dipstick to improve the crankcase ventilation is a must and does help the true fix is to update the oil pump. The higher crankcase pressures the Milwaukee 8 generates coupled with it's lack of adequate crank case ventilation is a real issue. This issue only becomes more apparent with high horsepower builds like the Stage IV kit. High horsepower M8 builds really put some stress on the crankcase pressures leading to excessive blow by.
