See baby Sasha's reaction to having her cochlear implants activated for the first time at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was 12 months old. • This time of day is normally her bed time. She was tired. The only thing that would have made her happy is bottle and bed. So it wasn't pretty. But given a break, she adjusted quickly. • Sasha was born with Waardenburg's Syndrome Type 2a, which caused her to be profoundly deaf. • Her activation was covered by a CBC documentary series called Keeping Canada Alive.
