It's really difficult to make an informed decision when trying to choose a college. Their reputations are generally only revealed after you're there and it's too late to switch. In this video, Anna and I tell you a little something about each college based on hearsay, gossip, rumour, and our own subjective experiences. OBVIOUSLY don't take this video as fact, and make sure to do your own research before making any important decisions. However, this is a fun way of getting to know a little bit about each one. Enjoy! • There's quite a lot of Cambridge-specific language in this video, some of which I managed to catch in the edit, but some might have slipped through the net. For ease of translation, here's a little glossary: • Mainsbury's = Big Sainsbury's • Slocals = Little Sainsbury's • Sidge/Sidgewick/Sidgewick Site = Humanities Campus • UL = University Library (the biggest library in Cambridge) • Master/President = head of a college • Porters = college officials, who are like police officers, receptionists, bouncers, admin staff... all rolled into one • Buttery = canteen • Formals = posh evening meals held in each college where you have to wear your gown and (usually) get all dressed up • Mathmo = someone who studies maths • If I've missed any other words, do ask in the comments! • READ MY BLOG: https://harrietshistories.wordpress.com
