In this video we look at the different types of alloys. Alloys are chemical compounds that have metallic properties. They usually consist of two or more metals melted together. There are three types of alloy, depending on the solubility of the components in the solid state. If the substances are completely soluble in each other in the solid state, the alloy is called a solid solution alloy. This includes the substitutional solid solution and the interstitial solid solution. If the substances are completely insoluble in each other in the solid state, the alloy is called a mixed crystal alloy.
