It should be the same process for any 2010 -2017 Ford Focus. The heater core is a part of the cooling system. As the coolant circulates through the engine, some of the hot coolant bypasses through the heater core, which is located in the dash. The temp inside your vehicle is then regulated by the climate control knob and blower motor, which then heats and defrosts the inside of your vehicle. Heater cores can sometimes be blown out or cleaned, but this one happened to be leaking internally and was causing the car to overheat. Signs of a bad heater core would be little or no heat, the smell of coolant in your car, coolant loss and the engine overheating. Since replacing a heater core is usually a complex and time-consuming job, it's a good idea to get a professional opinion. If you don't have the time or resources to replace it at the present time, you can use this method to keep your car on the road until time and finances permit you to fix it properly. This can be applied to most cars and is a temporary fix. It's best used when the weather is warm and not recommended during winter months or colder climates for extended periods of time. • Tools needed: • Screwdriver Set – – https://amzn.to/3zjoQCb • Socket Set – – https://amzn.to/40RyO9G • Utility Knife – – https://amzn.to/40xazO3 • Hose Cutter -- -- https://amzn.to/3G91ItL • Hand Cleaner -- -- https://amzn.to/3jkXlBk • Rubber Gloves -- -- https://amzn.to/35STq6Q • Shop Towels -- -- https://amzn.to/3y2KwzR • Parts: • Portable Car Heater – – https://amzn.to/3nz7f6G • Hose Clamps – – https://amzn.to/3ZADm2W • ¾ Heater Connecter – – https://amzn.to/3TWiAd5 • Coolant -- --https://amzn.to/3UeesFz • These are the tools we used or something that’s similar.
