Big Sciota Old Time fiddle lesson

Big Sciota is named after the river which runs through Columbus, Ohio. In this fiddle lesson I give two different versions of the tune. The first is based on the Aly Bain/Jay Ungar version from The Transatlantic Sessions. The second, a more crooked version comes from Burl Hammons via a video from fiddler Matt Brown. I include suggestions for bowing and open string drones to give it an authentic old time sound. A free pdf of the sheet music for Big Sciota is available to anyone who subscribes to the channel (see below).
