Il riparo. • Fiumi di vino, agave, gechi pietrificati ed un dondolo arruginito ci attendono alle otto del mattino, in quella location che di lì a poco sarà abbattuta... • Ma un contrafforte di suoni può fare la differenza, può sorreggere un edificio in bilico, può resuscitare gli spiriti dormienti, può essere scintilla di vita. E' proprio di differenze che si tratta, disperazione e speranza, giorno e notte, bianco e nero, rumore e silenzio, dentro e fuori, luce e buio, presenza ed assenza... storie di eterni dualismi. • Un ultimo addio a questo monumento testimone del tempo, tempio dei profani, ormai solo, preda dei ratti al calar del sole. • La mancanza di qualcosa o di qualcuno, assenze che colmiamo col video, le foto e la musica, l'umano tentativo di sospendere il tempo, evitare la fine, lasciare il segno. • • p.s. • quando ho deciso di fare le riprese in quella villa sapevo che di lì a poco sarebbe stata abbattuta. pochi giorni dopo le riprese del video, il comune ha dichiarato la villa patrimonio storico, vincolandola, annullando di fatto il suo abbattimento. Forse è stato un piccolo miracolo, forse davvero abbiamo salvato dalla condanna a morte un gigante di pietra, mi piace pensarla così, mi piace credere nei piccoli miracoli dell'arte. • • The Roots sink under an abandoned early 20th -century Villa. The brighter the land, the more they long for depth, the soul of Blues. Shelter. • Rivers of wine, Agaves, petrified geckos and a rusty swing await us at eight in the morning, in that location that soon will be demolished... • But a buttress of sounds can make a difference, can hold a building in the balance, can revive the dormant spirits, can be spark of life. It's all about differences, desperation and hope, day and night, white and black, noise and silence, inside and out, light and darkness, presence and absence... stories of eternal dualisms. • A last goodbye to this monument, witness of time, • temple of heathens, lonely now, preyd on by the rats at sunset. • The lack of something or somebody, absences filled by videos, images and music, the human attempt to suspend time, avoid the end, leave a mark. • • p.s. • when I decided to shoot in that Villa. I knew that soon it would have been demolished. A few days after the shooting of the video, the Council declared the Villa historical heritage, binding it, cancelling its demolition. Maybe it was a little miracle, maybe, really, we saved this giant of stone from its death sentence. I like to think of it this way, I like to believe in the small miracles of art.
