Un piccolo borgo da scoprire • Petrella Guidi (578 m slm) si trova nell’acclivio sinistro del fiume Marecchia, quasi di fronte a Pennabilli e a circa sei chilometri dal Capoluogo di S. Agata Feltria. E’uno dei luoghi più belli della Valmarecchia e conserva intatti i lineamenti e le architetture medioevali. L’arco a tutto sesto, in pietra bianca, rappresenta la porta d’ingresso al paese ed è sormontato da tre stemmi degli antichi dominatori del castello: Santa Sede, Malatesta e Conti Oliva. Della poderosa rocca che prevedeva ben due distinte mura difensive, oggi rimane la torre senza copertura, risalente al XI/XII secolo e recentemente restaurata. Sono altresì visibili la cisterna e tratti delle mura di cinta. • Il Borgo è caratterizzato da case altissime in pietra bianca antica, unite fra loro in una serie irregolare. Le circondano vicoli stretti in ciottolato, con accanto caratteristici forni. Dall’alto si può ammirare il girone delle case a schiera che salgono a cerchio e si può godere di un panorama di rara bellezza, che permette al visitatore di spaziare sull’intero territorio della Valmarecchia, dal mare Adriatico ai monti Toscani. Agata Feltria. It is one of the most beautiful places in Valmarecchia and preserves its medieval features and architecture intact. The round arch, in white stone, represents the entrance door to the town and is surmounted by three coats of arms of the ancient rulers of the castle: Santa Sede, Malatesta and Conti Oliva. Of the mighty fortress which included two distinct defensive walls, today only the roofless tower remains, dating back to the 11th/12th century and recently restored. The cistern and sections of the surrounding walls are also visible. • The village is characterized by very tall houses in ancient white stone, joined together in an irregular series. They are surrounded by narrow cobbled alleys, with characteristic ovens next to them. From above you can admire the circle of terraced houses that rise in a circle and you can enjoy a panorama of rare beauty, which allows the visitor to wander over the entire territory of Valmarecchia, from the Adriatic sea to the Tuscan mountains.
