Hey yall! Per yall’s request.. please screenshot the pic of the ingredients and measurements in the video AGAIN!!! here is my candied yams recipe!!! Also know as WAKANDA yams..🙅🏾‍♀️.. I posted the recipe in my insta stories a while back.. and told yall to save it and screenshot shot.. some of yall listen during foodie sunday school that day... aaaand some of yall didnt.. and because you didnt you had the NERVE to harass me😂😂.. but I can dig it! Because... candy yams can make or break a meal!!!! I made these in my cast iron pot that i names “ erma jean” .. but any pot is fine!! Ok.. so lets talk true candied yams . Here are a few tips.. • 1. Sweet potatoes make A LOT of water on their own.. so you only add a teeeeeenie bit of water at the bottom of the pot to keep them from scorching when u FIRST add the potatoes. This is a mistake many people make and they wonder why they had potatoes swimming in sugar and water.. • 2. Once you add the potatoes.. do not move them.. this will allow them to hold their shape.. if you stir them they will eventually break and then you wont have candied yams.. but mash cinnamon potatoes.. • 3. Cracking the lid while you cook the potatoes in the beginning will allow the potatoes to cook through but still release steam as well.. if you add the lid entirely it will just steam and create more water instead of allowing the water to evaporate, but still cook the potatoes..so placing the lid on halfway is crucial! • 4. Adding a tiny pinch of salt and using salted butta is Major key! Trust me on this. • 5. Always add the butter at then end.. because you add a lot of sugar, you dont want to add the butter early on.. it will make a gooey coating instead of allowing the potatoes to truly become candied.. plus it taste sooooo much better.. you really get that SOPPED Up taste of butter if you add it at the end .. • 6. Adjust the cooking time and heat according to YOUR stove!!!! The recipe isnt set in stone as far as cooking times.. when the potatoes are fork tender then you know their done.. and processed to the next step... if the potatoes start to scorch do to all the sugar that means your heat is too high.. so turn it down a bit.. • 7. I hope this helps!!! 💋 and stop harassing my other followers for the recipe who originally did what I told them to do..😂 • Order my cookbooks and weightloss book !! • http://www.stovetopkisses.com • follow me on social media!! •   / stovetopkisses   •   / stovetopkisses   • I do own the rights to the music*
