Nursing school study tips for final exams. Final exams can be very challenging in nursing school, especially when you're already burned out from the entire semester. • In this video, I reveal what worked best for me as I prepared for my finals in nursing school. • Instagram: / registerednursern_com • Facebook: / registerednurserns • Website: http://www.registerednursern.com/nurs... • Before you begin studying, it's a good idea to find out how the final exam will be structured. Will it be based on previous exams? Or will it mostly cover the material you learned at the end of the semester? Knowing this information can save you a lot of time and help you pinpoint specific topics you need to study. • It's also a great idea to make a habit of going over your notes after each exam during the semester, highlighting the information that you actually saw on the exam (or you could take out a sheet of paper and try to recall the main subjects or topics covered on each exam). That way, when it comes to the comprehensive final, you'll have a good study guide that is based on all of your previous exams up to that point. • One of the best pieces of advice that I offer in the video is this: It's a great idea to buy an NCLEX study guide (from either Saunders or Kaplan). Why is this important? Your nursing school is geared to do two major things: teach you nursing skills, and teach you material that you will see on the NCLEX (and on the job). • Your nursing school wants you to pass the NCLEX, so they are often going to cover similar material for final exams! • As far as the actual studying: I'd compare my notes with NCLEX review topics, and I'd spend time studying over my weak areas (even taking practice NCLEX tests). • Furthermore, many students have written to me, explaining that they listen to my videos while doing mundane tasks (cleaning, getting ready for nursing school, etc.).
