Sirvan is the most important and famous river of Oramanat district in Kermanshah province, its source is in two provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdistan, it has a relatively long and winding route. This river is located in the western and northwestern parts of Horaman and divides Horaman into two parts. • The major part of this river is located in Paveh city. Sirvan is formed by the joining of two rivers Gavrod from Kilai region in Kermanshahan province and Qeshlaq from Sanandaj region and from this point onwards it is called Sirvan and other rivers join it along the way. It can become a big river when it leaves the border, and in fact, this river is the most watery river in Kermanshah province. On its way, Sirvan joins the rivers of Javahroud (in Oraman Takht), Leila (in Mentafeh Paveh), Lusheh, Zamkan in Dalaho city of Kermanshah, Dasht Har, and then enters the country of Iraq. • Sirvan is also called Sirvan water. Sirvan water comes from the confluence of two rivers, Qashlaq and Gaverud. Sirvan enters Iraqi Kurdistan after traveling through the valley of Kochok Kharmal, Shahu and Salan mountains and flows into Darbandikhan Dam Lake. • In Iraq, this river takes the name of Diyala River after leaving the Kurdish region of Khanaqin and Jalula, although the Iraqi government recognizes this river as Diyala from Darbandikhan Dam. • Suleiman Shah Sanghar, Gawshan dams on the border of Kamiyaran and Sanghar, Vahdat (Qashlaq), Azad, Azadi Dam in Dalahu and Darian Paveh were built on the headwaters of this river in Iran, and in Iraq, Darbandikhan Dam in Bandikhan region and Hamrin Dam in Jalula region.
