Dr. Achim Kohler, from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (Norway) presents “Physics-and chemistry-aware data modelling in infrared microspectroscopy”. In this talk he shows how different physical principles related with the transport of light in turbid/biological media can be accounted for when creating a chemometric model. He also addresses the theme of inverse scatter problem solving in chemometrics by using convolutional neural networks. • On the 21st of March, 2024, the Center of Electronics, Optoelectronics and Telecommunications (CEOT) of the University of Algarve hosted the 3rd sensorFINT COST action international workshop “Deep Learning for NIR Chemometrics”. This workshop was intended to further advance the discussion about the application of Deep Learning algorithms for developing NIR chemometric tasks and discuss current trends in this field. It counted with the presence of several international specialists in chemometrics that presented their views and incursions of the theme. • https://dlc-workshop2024.ualg.pt/
