Bixler-2 flight on a fairly windy day at the parking field at Sunken Meadow State Park. I'm flying with a 1400kV motor on a Spektrum DX7s radio and receiver using five of the seven available channels. Elevator, rudder, ailerons, flaps and motor channels. The wings are reinforced with dual carbon fiber rods a 3mm x 1m inside a 5.2mm x 1m hollow CF rod. The stock 6mm x 1 m hollow cf rod is not sturdy enough causing the wings to flex violently during hard maneuvers. The servos are 9g Turnigy servos from Hobby King They have all metal gearing and seem to be very reliable. The ESC (electronic speed control) is a Turnigy Plush bulletproof 25 amp. and the battery is a Turnigy 20-30C discharge 2200mAh Li-PO which usually lasts about 15 minutes and can last longer if we use it to gain altitude and glide a lot into a slight breeze. • Here is a link for an optional landing gear set available from hobbyking.com • http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/st...
