Well, QoS is 16 years old today so here's a birthday present. Obituary is a 3 year old project that started in the aftermath of Lynx's 'Big Comeback' montage. I joked around about a hypothetical montage but quietly saved clips from our sessions for years until I had a final product, but honestly? Until like a year ago, I never actually expected to have a full montage ready to go. In the course of these 3 years, I've chopped and changed this 'tage from start to finish, I've probably tried in excess of 25 different songs to accompany this montage, had multiple cinematic recording sessions, and generally tried to make myself as visible in what remains of this community to gather enough players for one montage worth of clips. You've no idea how long it took to get these clips in the circumstances, especially as I'm nowhere near as skilled as the GOATS. • I'm no great editor and don't claim to be one, but I've learned over the course of making this montage a basic level in editing, using a mix of DaVinci Resolve and Shotcut. I also tried motion tracking through Blender, but gah dawmn that's above my paygrade. Special thanks to Dmitri ( / @lynxchannel ) for the colour corrections, it's greatly appreciated, it's very funny how good you can actually get this game to look visually when you know what to do lol. I'd like to give my dues to all of the players over the last few years, even the ones who air me for weeks when I whip round asking for numbers.... I'd like to give thanks in particular to everyone who still watches these vids, in particular the OG's who still pop round every now and then in the comments section. I also apologise for missing anyone in the end tributes, but this video would have been 20 minutes long if I'd have put every half decent montage up haha. I really can't say how much longer the game will be alive, and I have to say I'll probably take a step back from organising these days now this project is done, it's surprising how much effort it takes to co-ordinate these things, and how much shit you have to deal with re no shows, people not responding and general bad comms. Who knows what happens in the future with the game, I don't want to definitely say this will be the last montage ever, but it's definitely the last from me.
