My car would on the odd occasion have a slight variation to the idle speed on a cold start until it suddenly became much worse and started throwing codes. Join me as I replace the valvetronic eccentric shaft sensor, the valve cover gasket, spark plugs, and coils. • I use a number of guides to help me through the process here are the one I found the most helpful: • https://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/tech... • Thanks to fellow YouTube user Robert Smith for catching and correcting a mistake on my commentary, I installed the valvetronic motor correctly, but mixed up my clockwise and counter clockwise. I added at asterix in the video correcting my mistake. For reference the proper method for removing and installing the valvetronic motor is: • Remove by: • 1. hex-key clockwise to resistance • 2. unbolt unit completely • 3. hex-key counter clockwise to pull-out point • Install by: • 4. position cam motor • 5. hex-key clockwise to resistance • 6. bolt unit completely. • Thanks for writing down the all the steps Robert! • Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments! • Introduction music is royalty free music from https://www.bensound.com/ • If you like this video and want to buy me a coffee, visit my Patreon page at https://bit.ly/2wIEAlr
