Custom vinyl decals: http://www.godecals.net/custom-vinyl-... • This video tutorial features our VP of Business Operations, Bart Simpson, showing you -- step by step -- how to properly apply a die cut decal (or sticker) to the back of your car window. • Putting a decal or sticker on your car may sound like a simple process, but at GoDecals.net we've received a ton of questions over the years asking what the proper application process is. Hence why we created this video! • When you order die cut decals from GoDecals.net -- one of the most common stickers used for use on car windows and as bumper stickers -- it'll come in two layers: 1) the pre-mask, which is usually white and 2) the liner, the layer where the decal sits. • First, remove the liner from the pre-mask in order to expose the decal and prepare it for application. However, before you try and adhere it to your car window's glass surface, you must ensure it's smooth, clean, and dry. • To properly clean the surface where the decal will reside, spray down the car window's surface with a cleaning solution like RapidTac ( a combination of dish soap and warm water would work just fine, too). Then, use a rag or paper towel to wipe down the glass surface and make sure it's clean. • Once the surface of your car's window is clean, it's time to apply your decal! • Remove the pre-mask from the liner. When you remove it, it'll be easy to see the different sides of the decal: one side will have the decal artwork underneath a faint layer, while the other side will have the actual adhesive, which makes knowing which side to put on your car easy. • As you apply, smooth the decal with your hand to ensure the bond of the adhesive to the glass is strong. As Bart says in the video, that added pressure isn't enough to ensure a strong, near-permanent bond. • You'll need to use either a squeegee or a credit card and run it along the decal to ensure all the angles and cuts of the die cut decal are firmly adhered to the glass and will not cause wrinkles or lift the decal off completely. • After ensuring the decal has bonded with your car's window, you're ready to expose your decal's artwork! • Start pulling the top layer off from one corner, extremely slowly. Don't pull the top layer straight up, rather down toward your body and away from the glass surface. Slowly continue to pull the layer off until the decal is completely exposed! • Congratulations! With Bart's help, you've just learned how to properly apply a die cut decal to your car window.
