Close of waves • STORYLINE: • Some residents in Berdyansk in Ukraine have been issued with Russian passports. • Berdyansk police department's migration service said about 2,500 Ukrainian citizens have received Russian passports since June, with another 5,000 waiting to be naturalized. • Associated Press video journalists on a tour organized by the Russian Defense Ministry witnessed the process of granting Russian citizenship on Thursday. • Among them was Nadezhda Vycheva, a pensioner who said she is Ukrainian from top to toe, but it was God's will that she is taking Russian citizenship. • Applications for Russian citizenship in occupied Berdyansk started on 12 June. • According to Vasily Baranenko, head of the migration service, it takes up to a month to get Russian citizenship. • Olga Sum arrived in Berdyansk from Mariupol with her family to get Russian citizenship.
