C/U of a woman dressing a doll. Various shots of women at work making, painting and dressing children's dolls. • • A woman turns a baby doll over to dress it - it is rather spooky and bizarre as the doll is very realistic - almost looks like a dead baby. The woman talks, as if to the baby, but it does seem to be a doll - who knows?! M/S of three of the baby dolls all dressed up carrying umbrellas. A doll dressed up as a traffic warden or lollipop lady holds a stick with a lollipop at the end whilst a doll in a car is propelled past. Very odd! • • C/U of a doll dressed as Little Red Riding Hood (I presume). Doll in a sailors outfit stands up whilst a wind up toy teddy bear moves around. M/S of the sailor doll and a doll dressed in girly frock and hat are posed as if having a conversation. Another doll is posed with legs akimbo watching another doll on a swing. C/U of doll with parasol. C/U of doll in pyjamas with a Wee Willie Winkie hat on. C/U of a baby doll laid in a cradle. All looks a bit odd by today's standards. Paper records state that this is in Germany. • • Was an item in Eve's Film Review issue number 498. • FILM ID:928.2 • A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
