Time-domain reflectometry (TDR) is a measurement technique used to determine the characteristics of electrical lines by injecting a pulse down one end of the line and observing the reflected wave forms. It is a very established method used to to characterize and locate faults in metallic cables. • This webinar will cover the basic principles of operation of a TDR and how to interpret a TDR trace. We will take a closer look at key TDR settings and functions such as Range, Gain/Pulse Width, Cursors, Propagation Velocity and Live/Reference Traces. Finally, we will dive into common TDR applications for power cables such as continuity verification, the Arc Reflection Method for prelocating faults in primary cables, and the Arc Reflection Method for power restoration in a primary circuit loop feed. • Click here to view our upcoming webinars: https://bit.ly/3oK5f6p
