In this rare performance from 2004, David Bedford had invited John Lennon's Original Quarrymen to play live at Dovedale School, where John Lennon had attended. • As well as a young Dave Bedford, it is a rare film including Eric Griffiths, who sadly died the following year. He appears with original Quarrymen Rod Davis, Len Garry, and Colin Hanton. • In this clip from the concert, Len Garry tells his story of joining the Quarrymen and his friendship with John Lennon. • The Quarrymen had only begun to play live again in 1997, on the 40th anniversary of the historic meeting of 6th July 1957. They are still playing to this day. • Check out the series on The Quarrymen's story • Our store is at https://www.beatlesshop.co.uk • 00:00 Introduction • 00:14 Len Garry's Story • 00:55 Blue Moon of Kentucky • 03:30 Lost John • David Bedford is a Beatles historian and author of several books on The Beatles, including his most popular worldwide book, “Liddypool: Birthplace of The Beatles”.
