Check out us at:http://physics.tutorvista.com/electri... • What is Ferrite ? • Ferrites are composite oxides of iron which include other oxides in their chemical stucturp, e.g. MnFe204. These compounds having magnetic properties (i.e., show hysteresis effects) which are almost comparable with those of iron, are classified as ferromagnetic. They are semi-conductors, which mean that, compared with ferromagnetic materials, they are semi-insulators (i.e. ionic metallic oxides). They are used in transformers and chokes at radio frequencies and high frequency rod aerial's as their high resistivities reduce power losses caused by eddy currents at higher frequencies. • Please like our facebook page • / tutorvista Follow us at: https://plus.google.com/+tutorvista
